Chimney Lining and Offset Extension

This client provided us with plans to reline the boiler chimney and fabricate and install an offset extension. We obtained permits from NYC Department of Buildings

For the boiler chimney lining we installed 70’ of 22” diameter 10gage full seam welded pipe. Lining rests on the base of a steel plate at the bottom of the chimney. We furnished and installed a cleanout and drain at bottom of chimney lining. We will connect the existing breeching into the newly installed lining at the base of the chimney wall.

We had to remove the masonry structure at the roof parapet. Scaffold was erected as needed for access to this masonry chimney.

Once that was removed and leveled we fabricated and installed a custom chase cover with a 4” wrap around the chimney. We then installed the stainless steel offset chimney extension for about 35’ and installed gas tight clean outs every 15’ as required by NYC DOB.

Once the new lining and extension was installed we performed the NYC DOB required pressurized smoke testing and were able to issue the chimney affidavit for the NYC Dept. of Buildings and Con-Edison
